Day 2: December 29: A “get acquainted” tour of Vienna will be undertaken on foot stopping first at the Hofburg Palace complex,  followed by a visit to the Spanish riding School and time to explore the State Treasuries.  There will be time for lunch before returning to your hotel for an afternoon at leisure. Or perhaps you would prefer to explore one of Vienna’s famous coffee house and watch the Viennese world pass by?  Tonight we will move on to Grinzing for a three-course meal in an amazing wine tavern and be entertained by local musicians performing Viennese songs and operettas. Transfer back to your hotel.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 3: December 30: Today is set aside for you to visit two of Vienna’s famous palaces. One of Vienna’s landmarks is the Schonbrunn Palace , a former residence of Empress Maria Theresia. Rococo decorative schemes are found in all the sumptuous state rooms and the white wood paneling adorned with gilded frameworks is opulent. It is interesting to note the plain apartments of Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife the Empress Elisabeth. Some of the most impressive rooms include the Blue Chinese Salon, the Great Gallery, the Breakfast Room and the Vieux-Lacque Room.
To see some wonderful collection of 19th and 20th century paintings and sculpture we will next visit the Belvedere Palace Complex built originally for Prince Eugene of Savoy. There are actually two palaces, upper and lower linked by formal French gardens.
The afternoon is at leisure and for this evening you have the option to attend either a Strauss or Mozart concert.
Meals: Breakfast

Day 4: December 31: The focus for this morning is the magnificent art world of Vienna. Evening:  – the Imperial Kaiserball.  You will be escorted by private vehicle to the Hofburg Palace where you will occupy premier seats for the evening’s entertainment. Or perhaps you would like to travel by your own private horse-drawn carriage?
