Helsinki, the harbour city capital of Finland, offers a relaxed pace, friendly locals, fine dining, shopping and entertainment. You can explore the city’s historical monuments such as, Finlandia Hall, the Sibelius Monument and then head off into the clean fresh Finnish countryside on a number of trips which include walks through the forests; or cruise along the city shore line amongst the many islands. This tour also includes a day trip to Tallin, capital of neighbouring Estonia to explore this medieval town. Guaranteed Departures if at least 2 travellers: Any date which suits you.
DAY 1: Afternoon arrival into Helsinki. Meet, greet and transfer to your central city hotel. The evening is free for you to explore or relax.
DAY 2: After breakfast in your Helsinki Hotel there will be an overview tour of this waterside city. Visits will include Uspenski and Helsinki Cathedrals and Finlandia Hall. After lunch you set off for a tour of the Finnish lakes and forests in the Nuuksio National Park. This part of your tour includes a 1.5 hour walk with a professional guide before concluding with a typical Finnish snack.

DAY 3: Breakfast at the hotel. Today you journey into the Finnish countryside from Helsinki to Porvoo 50 kms from the capital. On the way you have the opportunity to stop at the Langinkoski Rapids to visit the fishing lodge which was a favourite holiday residence for the Russian Imperial Family. The town of Porvoo consists of old medieval wooden homes, warehouses, Church and Town Hall. There will be time to explore and shop for the many local crafts produced here, before you return to Helsinki.

DAY 4: Today you have an early breakfast and then travel by hydrofoil to Estonia and the capital Tallin. You have a full day to spend here. First there will be an introductory walking tour of the Old Town and its many historical buildings before moving on to the Lower Town with its medieval guild buildings and you will also include a visit to Toompea Castle. In the afternoon you will journey to the recently restored Kadriorg Castle, another home once used by the Romanoff family. For those who wish to stay on you will enjoy a special medieval feast before returning to Helsinki.

DAY 5: After breakfast in your Helsinki hotel you will set out to explore the Soumenlinna Island Fortress to enjoy its cobbled castle courtyards, marinas and outdoor picnic areas and walks. A feature is that this magnificent Historical monument is also a living city. Lunch will be in one of the many cafes and restaurants. On the way back to the city you will join one of the many island-hopping passenger cruisers. The afternoon and evening are free times for you.

DAY 6: Your tour ends this morning with departure to the airport and your onward flight.
